Canadian Girl Cycles to U.S.
To Attend School
Miss Helen Millar, Ontario, Canada, rode a BSA
single 1,200 miles from her home city to the State
University of Iowa in Iowa City early this summer.
She came to attend a special short course in orthop-
tics offered by the SUI college of medicine.
Most of her riding was done in the late afternoon
and early hours of the evening—until 9 or 10 p.m.—
to avoid the heat, she said.
Throughout the trip, the young cyclist says, she
found nothing but friendliness and helpfulness among
persons she met at roadside stops and resting points.
Cycling and orthoptics are only two of her inter-
ests. She has studied music for a number of years,
was a student at a private school on the U.S. oast
coast and has spent considerable time in Europe.

Bermudan Radio Announcers Tour
U.S.A, on Triumph Terriers
Denis McCormack (center), Triumph president, greets
Bill Burgess (r.) and Bud Pearson during U.S. tour.
Two young radio announcers from radio
station ZBM, in Hamilton, Bermuda, are now
making a transcontinental tour of the U.S.A.
Equipped with Triumph Terrier lightweights
the boys landed in New York City. Then sailed
on the Queen of Bermuda and shipped the
motorcycles as “excess baggage”, costing only
.00 apiece.
Bill Burgess reports that their Bermuda
shorts drew whistles in several eastern cities.
He also said he was amazed to see so many
Triumphs on the American roads. The boys
visited Triumph’s eastern offices and conferred
with President Denis McCormack, as to their
route. The boys plan to visit some of the
Triumph dealers enroute and swap yarns on
Triumph performance in Bermuda and the
United States.
