Southwestern
Ohio Rally
IN ideal weather and continuing a perfect no-accident record
(five years now), the dealers of Southwestern Ohio held
another successful rally and lour.
Sponsoring the event were Harley-Davidson dealers Ray
Konkler of Cincinnati, Jim Peck of Hamilton and Morris
Flatter of Greenville ably assisted by the Cincinnati Cavaliers,
Road Barons, Hamilton and Treaty City MGs.
While all are welcome, this rally and tour draws mainly from
the area surrounding the three cities represented. At that there
were 620 riders registered. Of these, 105 entered the many events,
while the rest preferred to be spectators and cheer on their
favorite contestant.
Throughout the day’s events, Ray Konkler had three boys
shooting color movies which were spliced in sequence, making
an interesting account of the rally.
The usual field meet events were held, but keeping up with
the times an extra contest was held which turned out to be a
real bell ringer. What else but a “Hula Hoop’’ contest limited
to the dealers. One thing for sure, these boys can twist more
than a wrench (oh, my aching back.) But, it was all in fun
and everyone had their fair share.

Escort officers found little to do but enjoy the events, since
this is always a fun-filled but orderly event.
