For the past 10 years, this man has ridden his motor-
cycle to work every morning. In most all kinds of weather.
He’s Tad Adamowski, Head of Shipping Operations for
UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund.)
“To help needy children throughout the world,” Tad
says, “UNICEF ships hospital supplies, insecticides, trac-
tors and thousands of other items to 115 countries and
territories.”
A graduate of Harvard, Tad joined UNICEF in 1957, at
which time he bought his first two-wheeler — a German
Contessa motorscooter. He has since progressed to a
BMW R50.
Next to cycling, Tad's favorite pastime activities include
tennis and boating, both of which he pursues with equal
vigor. He presently owns and pilots a 25 ft. cabin cruiser
— which he fondly calls Georgie Boots.

A bachelor, and a busy one at that, Tad likes to get
where he's going fast. A good trick in traffic-clogged New
York.
“For whizzing around the city,” Tad says, "you can't
beat a motorcycle. I wouldn’t be without one. They're easy
to handle. Easy to park. And fun to boot. I suppose that's
why so many people — city dwellers and otherwise — are
becoming cycle buffs. And why the sport is growing like
wildfire across the country.”
You suppose right, Tad.
